Sost the Vietnam war song "give peace a chance"

"Give peace a chance" was a song that was used as an anti-Vietnam war song during the Vietnam war.

The song was written by John Lennon and was first performed by Yoko Ono in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, the song was released in 1969 along with the song  "Remember Love"

These songs together quickly gained traction and rose to number 2 on the UK singles chart and number 14 on the Us top 100 board. Us billboard described it saying that it had "an infectious rhythm ballad" with "clever arrangement and performance." the song was noticed by protestors and was quickly adopted to become the leading song of the movement.

The song was sung by over half a million demonstrators in Washington, D.C. on Vietnam Moratorium Day, on 15 November 1969. They were lead by  Pete Seeger, who added his own lines like  "Are you listening, Nixon?" and "Are you listening, Agnew?", between the choruses of protesters singing, "All we are saying ... is give peace a chance".

Neutralization

Aim: To observe a neutralization reaction.

equipment: A test tube, test tube rack, hydrochloric acid, sodium hydroxide, dropper or dropper bottle and universal indicator.

Method:

1. fill 4 test tubes with 3ml of acid

2. fill 2 test tubes with 3ml of base

3. add a squirt of universal indicator to each test tube

4. add different amounts of base and acid to each test tube to get the colours of the rainbow (ROYGBIV)

Results:

Emily and I worked together in making the rainbow of colours using the acids and base we were given.

Discussion:

The colours in the test tube shown are telling us how neutral, basic and acidic the solution is. The redder the solution is the more acidic it is and the bluer it is the more basic it is. just to the right of the centre, the test tube is green and that tells us that the solution in the centre is in theory neutral. The process of neutralisation goes as follows. The acid (HCl) mixes with the base (NaOH) making water. the chemical reaction looks like this. HCl + NaOH → water. this reaction makes the solution more neutral the more balanced the ratio to acid and base there is.

Conclusion.

In conclusion, the test tube filled with acid showed the colours of the rainbow using the PH scale. it worked very well.

Music thought time

Here comes the sun, here comes the sun,
and I say it's all right

Little darling, it's been a long cold lonely winter
Little darling, it feels like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun
and I say it's all...

The song here comes the sun is faster-paced and had a more upbeat tune to it the meaning behind the song is to spread new light make the darkness go away. Compared to songs like "Swing on a Star". It was released in 1940 and was a song that mocked people for being improper and compared them to farm animals.

Charlie and the chocolate factory

Title; charlie and the chocolate factory

author; Roald Dahal

date; 12/3/2021

the book charlie and the chocolate factory starts with introducing the characters and describing Charlie and his love for chocolate. it also tells us of grampa joe who tells charlie storeys at night about the chocolate factory. afterwards the next day the golden ticket s announced and become the biggest thing in the world and the buckets family is very excited and is very happy because it's close to Charles birthday where he gets a single bar of chocolate for his birthday present from his parents it also close to when we find out that some of the tickets have been found by; a very fat boy called Agustus gloop was the first person to find a ticket then the next person to find a ticket was veronica salt but actually her father hired hundreds of peanut woman to open up bars of chocolates and eventually give it to veronica salt, the third one was found by miss violet Beauregard who loved to chew gum, then the forth ticket to be found was by Miike TeeVee to loved the tv and never left its side.

I have read more and this is where I have gotten up to so far.

Charlie has gotten the golden ticket and has shown it to his entire family and they found out that Willy Wonka will be seeing them tomorrow and that you can bring one or two people from your family to accompany you to Wonka’s factory. Charlie chooses grandpa joe to come with him and the next day they go to willy Wonka’s factory and meet the other 4 children and parents that found the tickets. They first go through many corridors and Wonka explains the layout of the building say that the building bigger than any other building on earth, and when someone asks how he then go on to explain his he just digs deeper and deeper into the hollowing it out.

And that's where I am at now.

literacy question. what kinds of social reality does the text portray?

The text charlie and the chocolate factory shows social realities, ties such as Rich and poor, greedy and not greedy. For instance, Veronica Salt"s family in response to Veronica wanting a ticket they buy hundreds of thousands of chocolate bars to try to find a ticket compared to Charlie's family who can barely buy his birthday present that was one bar of chocolate. Also, there's the part the veronicas father Mr Salt says that Veronica when she didn't get the ticket straight away she thew the tantrum that lasted days until they could find the golden ticket whereas Charlie when finding that the bar of chocolate that he got for his birthday didn't have a golden ticket he was just sad for a bit and he ultimately forgot about the golden ticket almost altogether.

Acids and baces

In-class today we used litmus paper and universal indicator to observe the differences between acids and bases

These are the things that we observed

Parihaka

The main message of the song? to "rise up" and "defend yourself".

what line explains there passive resistance?  the line that says "il sing you the song of Parihaka.

what does "you can't pull these roots out" mean? it means that you can't remove their roots and lineage that you can destroy their past.

This song tells the story of a peaceful protest. Finn was given Dick Scott's Ask That Mountain' by his sister and was told to write a song about it. 'rise up, rise up, defend yourself' was a line that talks about how they were protesting peacefully and still the others retaliated violently. They were determined to set a better future that will be sustainable. The song is significant because it tells us not only the story of the men but the woman and children as well.

They show determination by saying we won't forget taffeta and that they never forget.

To what extent were people affected by Parihaka?

A short-term consequence following the invasion was the sacking of the settlement, by governmental troops, known as the 'plunder' of Parihaka.

People were affected by Parihaha for; 16 months, 1,600 Parihaka inhabitants were expelled and dispersed throughout Taranaki without food or shelter and they are still affected today.

The Beast Of Buckingham Palace

Text Title: The Beast Of Buckingham Palace
Creator: David Williams
Text type: Book
Date: 17th February 2021

The words that are used in the story describe the British empire to be in a very post-apocalyptic situation where the light doesn't shine and the landscape is nothing but rubble. In some of the drawings of Buckingham palace from Alfred's point of view, it looks like "City" was mostly constant of rubble and fires that had broken out due to the recent bombing of the cathedral. This shows the inconsistency of the landscape and the uncertainty of being alive the next day. In the book the Buckingham palace "is armed like fort knocks" and "has walls 5 meters thick." The point of the story I’m at,  nanny and Alfred are in the “vault”, a very large area that holds all of the most precious things in the palace, things like statues, gold, toys, furniture, jewels. Before Alfred’s mother was taken to the tower he and she used to play hide and seek in the “vault”.

I have finished the book and It ends with Alfred, mite and the other revolutionaries escaping and Alfred's mother sacrificing herself to blowup Buckham palace and killing the 10 beasts of Britten but before this, we find out that; nanna is poisoning Alfred, is evil, working with the lord protector and is trying to rule the world, also we find out that that the first king drank blue blood from one of the beasts and thats why they are king. And that the ord protector becomes the Griffen, becomes really ugly and scary and try to destroy all of Britten.
