Passion project

I worked on a few docs and spreadsheets throughout the passion project.

I eventually went with the idea of just tearing down a toy RC car and using it as the base of the car. I first got the shell off the original car chasses and added some silicon to make a flat surface that could be used as a surface to mount the legos too. I then worked on the body of the car and build it out of an old lego technic car. I then placed the shell of the car onto the RC car secured it to it. for driving the car I put fresh batteries in and ironed out the many many kinks in the car. for instance, the steering was not working very well as I'd gotten some silicon on the steering arm but a touch of CRC to loosen it and make it more smooth. the shell and front kept breaking so I put more reinforcements and made a front bumper. but i the ned the car worked and drive around for a bit before dieing.

Mount Taranaki

Mount Taranaki

Mount Taranaki is a volcano that's shaped like a symmetrical peak that stands in isolation to the west of the Central North Island volcanoes. At 2,518 metres high, it is the second-highest peak in the North Island after Ruapehu and is New Zealand’s largest mainland volcanic cone by volume. Taranaki is the youngest, largest and only active volcano in a chain that includes the Kaitake and Pouakai Ranges, Paritutu and the Sugar Loaves. All these are now eroded remains of what were once large volcanoes. Taranaki began erupting about 130,000 years ago, with large eruptions occurring on average every 500 years and smaller eruptions about 90 years apart. At present, the mountain is considered to be a “sleeping” active volcano that is likely to erupt again. There are significant potential hazards from lahars, debris avalanches, and floods.

Mount Taranaki in New Zealand has exactly one mile of forest in every direction - breathtaking!: Damnthatsinteresting                   Mt Taranaki granted 'living person' legality in New Zealand

My Holidays

During my holidays I went to Washpen falls on a project k trip. There, we went on a loop walk around there and did a few things. For instance, we did this thing walled the "leap of faith" and the giant swing. The "Leap of Faith",  as a system of ropes that allowed you to climb the tee tops and jump to a traipse bar.

The Giant swing was similar to the leap of faith and had the same rope system that is used to help you climb to a platform that's 8 meters high in the tree. Once there, there's a small platform that one of the instructors helps you on to so that they can connect you to a large Y shaped wire system. Once you're connected they do a final check of your harness,  then they instruct you to jump of to the side of the platform.

You then plummet down a few meters getting picked up by your harness by the wires then flung out towards a green plant-covered cliff that overlooks the Canterbury plains. After swinging back and forth a few minutes you slow down enough that they can slow you down and take you off.
