The song "do they know its Christmas time at all" is a song that was made by Bob Geldof . he made the song after seeing the extreme hunger in Africa he flew there to see it for himself and after seeing things for himself he flew back to Britain and upon his arrival he and the band ultra vox worked together to compose the song "do they know its Christmas". together with other British pop stars, they worked together to release the song before the holidays. the song sold several million copies in 1984 and all proceeds were directed towards helping with famine relief. after this he made two concerts to play at the same time, on was in Wimberly stadium in London, England and in the JFK Stadium in Philadelphia. in total the concert was seen in 110 countries and raised 127 million dollars to go to towards fighting the famine in Ethiopia.
