Live aid songs

I have chosen the song, "do they know it's Christmas time". I think that the reason they recorded this song on and chose to sing it at live aid was after bob Geldof went to Africa to see the famine for himself.  He thought that someone should bring to attention what's happening there.

Is this a form of protest?

Well in my opinion it's not as they didn't know what was really happening in Africa and all they were trying to do was bring attention to the famine there.

Do you think that one person could start a concert is similar to live aid? ( ignoring covid)

Yes, I think that someone could hold a concert very similar to live aid with a bit of help. (this is all ignoring covid) I think that the concert would be very big and maybe even bigger than live aid as more and more people today have TVs and internet, and with that, it would make it so that anyone could see the concert and even more people could help with the donations that would go towards whatever reason that they are holding the concert.

This is one of my favourite songs by Queen that was played live at live aid.

How significant are music and musicians today in affecting change in the world today?

Musicians have a lot of power today as many listen to music. Music through the years has been used many times to prove a point or send a message. For instance, the song "Give peace a chance" was a song that was used by Vietnam war protesters during the years of the Vietnam war.
