The song talks about the concept of thinking, 

"A person who thinks all the time"

One of the first lines of the song talks about thoughts, and how they can just divulge into nonsense.

In the next paragraphs of the song it's said that "Like everything else, It's useful in moderation" refiring to thinking about things like work where if you overthink things then you can become very worried about things and in the next line "And all so-called civilized peoples" "Have increasingly become crazy and self-destructive" Relates to this. 

"A great occasion is somehow spoiled for us unless photographed" "And to read about it the next day in the newspaper" "Is oddly more fun for us than the original event"

And I think that this is referring to social media and how basically everything that we do is recorded on them, and how we can just peer into others live using it.

This leads to the final line of the song which is "I'm not trying to put you down" "It's an expression of you as you are" "One must live" "We need to survive, to go on" "We must go on"
